I was watching a show "Rescue this bar" or something like that on TV....
It amazes me how many people think they can run a bar just because they
can drink a lot of alcohol!  Folks who have no idea of running any form
of retraunt or bar will buy a bar strictly to have their own place to
drink!  Last night, this jerk who owned the majority of the bar would
take the waitresses and some of the customers for a 'tour of the
managers room', and asked the ladies to take their tops off for him.  I
wore a shirt with very rude profanity on it.  The guy almost refused to
even rescue their bar because of the rudeness of the owner!  The owner
thought it'd drum up business by drinking with the customers.  The lady
ordered a ham burger, because part of his stake out is to see how the
service is and the food.  The hamburger was pre-made and shoved back
into a plastic bun bag, when she ordered it they heated it up in a
microwave. (The guy on the show said I want to see how they make a
hamburger with no kitchen!) The lady gagged on the hamburger it was so
bad.  Later, he went behind the bar and pulled the rack out of the ice
bin and showed the employees the brown crud that was holding their ice
up.... Green slime found elsewhere, roaches in the bottles of liquor....
Took a good day of cleaning.... Any owner who had the slightest idea of
running a restraunt would have not allowed the place to open without
making sure it was cleaned properly!  The nacho cheese was expired over
a YEAR!  Another food service issue.... All products need to be labeled
with the date brought into the cooler/store room, the date they are
opened, and the date they expire!  These are things employees of fast
food restraunts and convience stores are taught that an owner of any
restraunt should know!  How every bar seems to not have any system for
ensuring that the kitchen gets a copy of the orders is beyond me...  I
mean, do they expect them to just memorize all orders for the entire
night?  And the way most bars keep a tab.... I personally wouldn't trust
them!  I gather they usually hope you get drunk enough to not be able to
remember what you ordered!
