That's logical; we've done it different times. The health food/natural
foods store we used to go to in HI had both salad and entree bar
(meatless); we would sometimes get a meal from them before or after
shopping. Whole Foods has them also but we seem to hit them more in mid
afternoon than meal times.

I've picked up various community cook books at the Sharing Shop, now
going thru them trying to decide if I want to keep them or not. This
recipe was in one that I'll probably return.

MOM'S CHILI

5lb hamburger meat
2 bottles ketchup
1 can tomato paste
1 jar Ragu sauce
1/2 c. sugar
Salt and Pepper

Cook on medium/high until hamburger meat is brown (approximately-use a 5
quart pot). Drain hamburger meat, leaving some grease, then add
remaining ingredients except sugar. Turn down to warm and let simmer for
2 to 3 hours. Add 1/2 cup sugar after turning off stove.  (Submitted by

Most of the recipes looked ok, good, not great, a lot of convenience
foods used in them. This one, tho, caught my eye as a prime example of
what chili is not. But, if the contributer was raised on this as chili,
I guess it's chili to her until somebody educates her on what real chili
is.
