This is just tagging off an older post since it is still about Gourmet.

I finally did something that I should have done a long time ago. I
exported all of my recipes from Gourmet and removed it from my computer.
After reinstalling Gourmet and restoring the recipes from the backup
file, the problems I was having with nutrition information making the
memory balloon and the computer run slow seem to have disappeared. There
was probably a problem with the original recipe or the USDA database.
That problem is no longer there.

Now that both Meal-Master export and nutrition are fixed, I am quite
pleased with Gourmet and can recommend it as an alternative to
Meal-Master as it is available for multiple operating systems and does
not need to run in DOSbox, DOSemu, or other DOS emulator or virtual
machine. It should also not have the same database size limitations.

I had to take a guess on the phylo dough. It comes in one pound
packages. The origial recipe did not specify, so I guessed that one
package would be used in making this recipe.

MMMMM----- Meal-Master (tm) export from Gourmet Recipe Manager

     Title: Baklava Walnut Honey Dessert
Categories: Desserts, Pastry, Nuts
     Yield: 24 servings

  1 1/2  c Walnuts; coarse ground
    1/2  c Sugar
      1  t Cinnamon
      1 lb Sheet phyllo dough
      1    stick Melted butter
    1/2  c Honey

  Combine: 1 1/2 cups walnuts, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon.

  In a well buttered shallow baking dish approximately 12 x 8 inches,
  place: 1 sheet phyllo dough Brush well with: melted butter. Repeat
  with 2 more sheets, folding in any overlapping edges. Sprinkle with
  1/3 of walnut mixture; alternate layers of 3 sheets of buttered phyllo
  and walnut
  mixture; end with 3 phyllo sheets.

  Cut into squares or triangles and bake in a 375F/190øC oven 45
  minutes or until golden.

  (Blanche's note: better you should take this out of the oven when it's
  a shade lighter than you think it needs. This scorches pretty easily.)

  Pour evenly over assembled layers while still hot: 1/2 cup honey

  Let cool before removing from dish. Serve at room temperature or
  reheat briefly in a 350F/175C oven.


  Serves 8 - 10. (Not in MY house!)
