Yes, and knowing I've not been hit with a number of things, I think I'm
doing pretty well, overall.

Head cook, who probably follows recipies like a robot. Last time Dad was
in, Don said he thought the meatloaf was good but not much else. As he
(Don) said, "we all know Dad's tastes" so I guess the meatloaf wasn't
that great in reality.

Your parents probably "freaked out" over that. This day & age, they'd
have thought little sister had been abducted by a stranger, not going to
school with big sister.

Is she the farmer's wife now? We weren't allowed any "on our own"
cooking; it had to be for family or a school event (class bake sale or
whatever). Mom always did almost everything until she started working
but by then we my next younger sister and I could do some things. It
wasn't until she moved into the library and started to got to school
part time that I really moved into the kitchen. Can't say that I enjoyed
that (or housework--neccessary "evils") but I got to be an OK cook
(better than either of my sisters) before I left home.

He's not sent any out yet. I'm going to wait on the freezer stock up a
bit more tho.

We do appreciate it. I think my brothers would go "yeah, whatever; if it
makes you feel better" (but they don't know that it does---G---). We're
thinking of heading south in a bit to see for ourselves what needs doing
and also visit Steve's folks.
