That's pretty much our viewpoint, too... ;)  I remember when Daddy was
doing pulpit supply in MS... some of those rural churches were easily an
hour away...  Breakfast was slices of bread in the car... usually raisin
but sometimes pumpernickel...  :)  Much more convenient when it's closer
by, of course...  ;)

I suppose, that if he were to cook Sunday dinner himself, he'd still be
keeping his promise to his mom...  ;)  Growing up, we usually had
one-pot meals, of one sort or another, whether it was stew in the
pressure cooker or chicken & rice in the oven... something that could
cook itself pretty much, either while we were gone, or finished off
quickly when we got back...

Well, yes, a guest pastor probably would be likely to be fed at
someone's house, especially when he was from out of town...  :)  When we
were without pastor for a while, and were having a number of out-of-town
supplies, at least one Sunday we took the guest pastor and his family
out to one of our favorite Chinese buffets...  apparently their kids
(now adults) still remember that one, favorably...   :)

Perhaps especially then, but also at any time... and it helps
hospitality to be a family affair, not just an extra burden on the
wife...  :)

That would be helpful... and the schedule change is about what I was
expecting... If you did it regularly, you probably had the schedule
memorized, whichever day it was...  :)

That sounds lovely all around... :)

He might just have thought it was chopped rice that tasted a little
different... maybe some exotic form thereof... ;)
