You can find such in any off-road community in Alaska or the
Canadian north. When Roslind had that contract which took her to
Kugluktuk (Coppermine) a lot, she always brought a large Rubbermaid
hamper of fresh produce with her, because everything there was
dried, canned, frozen or flown in at huge expense. For example a
head of wilted iceberg lettuce was $8. Even the non perishable
stuff on the summer annual sea lift cost $1.25 per pound extra for
shipping so potatoes for example were $1.75 per pound.

One time she took up several pounds of fresh chilies and limes, red
onions, avocados and tomatoes along with quite a few bunches of
cilantro, enough for everyone at a large community dinner to have
guacamole. The locals had only heard of guac and had never seen an
avocado or tasted cilantro. It turned out to be very popular. In
return she came back with a hamper full of char, sea run Dolly
Varden trout and pink fleshed whitefish. [There is a waterfall on
the Coppermine River about 12 miles upstream from the coast and the
water from the foot of the falls to the ocean is quite brackish and
full of little salt water crustaceans for the whitefish to eat which
is why they are pink not white (and extra tasty)].

      2 oz Rabarbaro Zucca Amaro
  1 1/2 oz Scotch, such as Great King
           St. Artist's Blend
      4 ds grapefruit bitters
      6 oz bitter lemon soda, such as
           Fever Tree 
           Lemon twist, for garnish

Rabarbaro Zucca Amaro, or 'Zucca' for short, leans toward the
sweeter end of the bitter amaro spectrum, with a slightly smoky,
earthy flavor that is the perfect companion for a little Scotch.
Refreshing bitter lemon soda and grapefruit bitters lighten up the
drink, making it easy to enjoy in hot weather.

Note: If you can't find bitter lemon soda, mix 1 part freshly
squeezed lemon juice to 1-1/3 parts tonic. Go with a blended Scotch
here that's not very peaty.   

Procedure: In a mixing glass half full of ice, stir together Zucca,
Scotch, and bitters until chilled, about 20 seconds. Add soda to
mixing glass and give one gentle stir. Strain, dividing between two
highball glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon twist and serve
immediately.
