Happens. One can make soap out of just about any kind of
fat, and what if you're allergic to beef (say).

True - and the reason that tick bite makes one allergic to
beef is that its allergen is similar to a component in meat.

Speaking of "all of the above," here's an Armenian
recipe that points up the fact that the most bitter
enemies have the most in common. As you know the
Turks and the Armenians hate each other, but this
recipe's name in Armenian is almost identical in
Turkish. It mean's "lady's thigh meatballs." It is
one of the most delicious foods I know, especially
when made with a surreptitious dash of thyme powder.
P.S. Some sources include cheese. Do not believe them.

Breaded meat ovals (KADIN BUDU KUFTA)
cat: Armenian, main
servings: 6

1 1/2 lb lamb, ground twice
4 oz dry sherry
1/4 c parsley, minced
2 Tb short-grain rice
1 lg onion, chopped
salt, pepper to taste
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 Tb lemon juice
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c bread crumbs
4 Tb butter

Combine lamb, sherry, parsley, rice, onion, salt and pepper,
and mix well. Shape into slightly flattened ovals.

In saucepan, put 4 c salted water, bouillon cubes and lemon
juice. Bring to boil. Put kuftas in pan and simmer for 20 min.
Take kuftas out and drain well.

Roll in beaten eggs and bread crumbs and fry in butter over
low heat in skillet until well browned.
