I am currently trying for the Extra Class license which is the highest amateur
radio license you can get in the US.  It consists of 60 difficult questions
about the amateur radio laws, electronics theory, radio theory, reading
schematics, knowing formulae, et cetera.  I've been studying it off and on but
I've got quite a way to go yet.

Now the Technician (first of three) and General (second of three; that is the
license class I currently hold) aren't too bad to earn.

I didn't know he'd already passed on.  I never met him but I love his recipes.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Chirizu (Spicy Dipping Sauce for Sashimi)
 Categories: Japanese, Sauces
      Yield: 1 Servings

      5 ts Sake
      2    Spring Onions
      3 tb Lemon juice
    1/8 ts Hichimi Togarashi
      4 oz Daikon
      3 tb Japanese soy sauce
      1 pn MSG

  Warm the sake in a small sucepan.  Ignite with a match, off the heat,
  and shake tha pan gently until the flame dies out.  Pour the sake
  into a dish and cool.  Put the sake with the grated daikon, onions,
  soy sauce, lemon juice, MSG, and the 7 pepper spice into a mixing
  bowl. Mix well. To serve, place in small individual dishes and serve
  with sea bass, sea bream, or sashimi.
