There are several places where interstates intersect and
the crossings have grades and even traffic lights. Going
into Springfield, MA I think is one; also I-70 and 76 in
Pennsylvania. Maybe those are old roads that have been
grandfathered, and the new standards are more strict, who
knows. I remember at-grade train crossings as well - one on
I-35 north of Austin that surprised and perhaps outraged
me back when I saw it (visiting my uncle at UT, so that
was in the early '60s).

I think it's going to abandon the US 15 path and follow the
220 corridor down through Jersey Shore and Lock Haven, so
it needn't mess with South Williamsport at all.

Ah, route 3 and its checkered career. Did you know
that there's a route 3AA that is under 100 paces long
and a route 3AB that goes from dead end to dead end?
Neither has anything to do with what is left of rte 3,
but perhaps they once did.

There doesn't seem to be any place for it to go.
Perhaps a discontinuous section somewhere, or if they
went interstate-happy they could fancy up US 301.

Boy, we can go from food geeks to road geeks in the
twinkling of an eye.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.00

      Title: Twinkie Pie
 Categories: Pies, Desserts, Chocolate
      Yield: 8 servings

           Butter
      9    Twinkies
      3    Eggs; large, seperated
      1    Dash of Cream of tartar
    1/2 c  Sugar
    1/2 ts Vanilla extract
      6 oz Chocolate chips; semisweet
      1 c  Pecans; chopped
      1 c  Heavy cream; whipped

  Grease pyrex square or rectangular casserole with butter. Cut 8
  Twinkies in thirds, LENGTHWISE, and put one layer on the bottom of
  the casserole. Beat egg whites, with the cream of tartar and sugar,
  adding vanilla. Melt chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler.
  Add egg yolks to chocolate, slowly, continuing to stir over boiling
  water. Fold chocolate into egg whites.  Spread over Twinkies, then
  sprinkle with about half of the nuts. Layer on more twinkies, more
  chocolate, more nuts. Continue layering. Top with whipped cream and a
  single whole Twinkie.  Chill and serve.
