We'd probably go down during the week, timing it to be there when they
open the gates and then cutting out by mid afternoon or so. I'd have to
check the local college and university football schedules tho--a home
game, combined with the fair, makes for major traffic issues. Found that
out the hard way one year when we wanted to go to Whole Foods on a
Saturday. Never made that mistake again, and started shopping the new WF
when they opened a 2nd one in North Raleigh--closer to us, further away
from the fair and college football.

Some days I can take it without problem, other days, not so well.
Trouble is, I can't always know in advance what kind of day it's going
to be.

I can see John Deere associated with a tobacco related contest, but not
ice cream.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, might have to make a run up that way ourselves. I've
got a cousin at Penn State we could visit while doing an ice cream run.
Trouble is, ice cream wouldn't stay frozen for the time needed to drive
back down to NC.

I think something was overdone; it was one of these strip mall Chinese
places that I recall having it. The sauce was supposed to be a black
bean with garlic one; the garlic taste was not there.
