I am on my own "level pay" plan. I schlep the electric company $200/month.
Currently I am >400 in credit. But, winter hasn't hit yet. We've not even had a
for-real frost yet. Just some scattered patches that got some frost. And, if
things work out I will be leaving tin-can living for a stick-built place with a
basement and 2 car garage.

Fortunately I bookmarked the link I sent to Stephen about the heat floor deal.
I have lived in a place that had that and it was both nice (comfort-wise) and
nice (cost-wise).

There is an advisory referendum on this year's ballot asking if the state
minimum wage should be raised to $10/hr. Needless to say the tea-bagger and the
Manufacturer's Association and the Illinois Restaurant Association are turning
purple with outrage.

I looked into an actual condo in a nice building - but, couldn't get a straight
answer on what the monthly "fees" would be. With a conventional place I know
pretty much what the taxes, insurance, etc. will cost.

I did a search on "Condo Recipe" and this popped in ... but I think condo means
something different from what I had in mind when used by a Pakistani chef.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Condo Darbari Fish
 Categories: Asian, Seafood, Citrus, Herbs, Chilies
      Yield: 2 servings

    1/2 kg Fish
      2 tb Ginger-garlic paste
           Salt
      1 tb Lemon juice
      4 ts Cumin powder
      1 ts Coriander powder
    1/2 ts Allspice powder
      1 ts Ground chile
      2 tb Tomato paste
      2    Drops red food color
    1/2 ts Carom seeds *
      2 tb Coriander leaves
      2 tb Mint leaves
    1/4 c  Flour
      4 tb Water
    1/4 c  Oil

  Wash fish and cut into small cubes.

  In a bowl mix together ginger-garlic paste, a little
  salt and lemon juice.

  Marinate fish cubes with the mixture.

  In another bowl mix together cumin powder, coriander
  powder, all spice powder, chile powder, tomato paste,
  red food color, carom seeds, coriander leaves, mint
  leaves and flour.

  Mix very well and make into a thick paste with water
  as required.

  Now coat the marinated fish cubes with prepared paste.

  Now shallow fry with oil from both sides till golden
  brown and crisp.

  Remove from frying pan.

  Put in a serving platter.

  Serve with any dip or sauce.

  * Carom seed is also known as ajwain or Bishop's weed.

  Serves 2 - 3
