There's a use for newer riches, as ofttimes when the wolf
has been permanently barred from the door, resources can be
diverted to making life better in ways that range from
creature comforts to the consolations of the arts. Was it
John Adams who said that his purpose was to lay a framework
around which the next generation could generate wealth that
the farther descendants could use to bear cultural fruit?

Being a young puritan once, I didn't see this possibility
while growing up.

Few board members of such organizations have been professional
musicians, because one of the prerequisites is the ability to
donate or solicit large sums. More eminent artists (i.e., not
me) sometimes appear on such lists, largely by virtue of their
name power, which is supposed to be a money draw.

Still enjoying life, which is the point of the whole thing,
and being the center of attention, which I never could
sympathize with.

Squash juice
cat: ingredient
yield: 1 batch

1 md butternut squash
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1 Tb brown sugar

Cut squash into chunks and run through a juice
extractor. Combine juice and seasonings and
cook 10 min over medium heat. Strain and cool
before use.

Squash harvest
cat; booze
servings: 1

2 oz vanilla vodka
1 1/2 oz Bailey's
1/2 oz simple syrup
3 oz squash juice

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar.
