 DS> Do you get any choice in your food?  At Howard County General, they

I enclose the menus for my recent solid meals. Before
that I had Cheerios and a banana and soy milk, before
that the clear liquid routine.

Yes - I am rather fond of vindaloo, one of the least
subtle and hottest of the curries. There is said to be
something called tindaloo, apparently a vindaloo made
with habaneros.

This was supposedly tailored to my needs.

The chicken broth was all right. Diced beef with mashed
squash and potato tasted sort of okay, especially since
I had the foresight to order two butters and a packet of
salt to go with. The meat was round, I think, cooked to
a pretty uniform gray by some incomprehensible method.
It was supposed to have been tossed in gravy, but of that
there was none. About 3 oz, it actually tasted beefy and
satisfied my immediate need for meat. The veg were mashed
together; they actually tasted like squash and potato,
and the butter helped a whole lot.

Tilapia on the other hand should never have been on a
soft diet - its texture was akin to cardboard. Though the
aroma was, shall we say, offputting, its flavor was mild
enough for me to imagine the back taste of the cesspools
in which the fish had lived its life.
