I am trying to cure myself of pack-ratting. And shutting off part of the house
leads to other problems - mold, mildew and more rapid decrepitude of the unused
part of the place.

Funny thing - Menard's flyer in the Sunday Fish Wrapper & Birdcage Liner was
about fireplace inserts and mantelpieces, surrounds, etc.

I'm still trying to weasel it around so that I can get it without a mortgage -
I've an investment account and a couple of bank accounts that will bring me
close if I clean them out and strap myself. But, I'd have to put the rest on my
plastic (I *could* put the whole thing on plastic) but I am too frugal to pay
credit card interest ... which is why I *never* carry a balance.   Bv)=

I may buy another (brand-new) tin can and set it right next to this one. The
savings in utility bills would likely make the monthly strokes. And I have a
young father with a wife and twin boy babies who would take this place as a
gift - so, I'd not have to hassle with getting it to the landfill.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Trash
 Categories: Desserts, Fruits, Chocolate, Grains, Nuts
      Yield: 24 servings

    1/2 c  Butter; melted
      6 oz Pkg chocolate chips
      1 c  Creamy peanut butter
     18 oz Box Kix cereal
     16 oz Box raisins
      1 c  Unsalted peanuts
           Confectioner's sugar

  Mix butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter together
  over low heat and stir until all are melted.

  Mix Kix, raisins, and peanuts together.

  Pour wet mixture over dry. Mix thoroughly.

  Toss with confectioner's sugar.

  Start with 1 cup and add more if mixture doesn't look like
  it is coated well.

  Store in airtight container.
