I can see that.  My tongue-in-cheek was less referring to the wisdom or
lack thereof of their decisions, only that it did turn out to be more
complicated and time-consuming etc already.  I did find that article you
mentioned in the email about the new protocols for appendicitis, and
found it quite interesting... it explained things nicely.  And with the
infection cleared away, the -ectomy should be a lot safer and easier.

Two nice benefits.  :)

Smelling up the house is a part of cooking... ;)  Getting ingredients is
more likely to be a factor for me not doing something... ;)

To be fair, the burger buy was more likely to happen on a trip, and as a
treat of sorts...  and we'd be traveling with snacks and such in the car
already, like carrots/celery, pretzels, graham crackers... that sort of
thing... But I clearly remember the one burger per...  :)  He wasn't
buying milkshakes for the crew by then... although a very early memory I
have is of being in the front seat of the car at a drive-in movie,
sharing a milkshake with Daddy... I couldn't have been more than about 2
or maybe 3 years old.  I think he was a bit surprised at how much of it
I guzzled down, IIRC... (G)
