Quite. Having eaten at greasy pizza joints a lot in the
olden days, I can testify that the chance of getting a
pizza made with a good olive oil is about that of getting
a great deal at the used car place next door.

That great Cajun place could be Janis's house - the Shipps
could make their jambalaya, and I could do something peculiar
like crab-stuffed boudin.

There never is any need to gild the lily. I found an
open carton of half and half in the fridge and made
myself a milk shake (lots of pills) and took some of
that chicken and made the simplest chicken dish. I
am really into simplification, though if anyone needs
me to make something fancy at the echo picnic, that
could also be done.

Milk shake
cat: heavy dairy, mine, today, dessert
servings: 1

1 oz hot water
1 oz sugar
1 ts vanilla extract
6 oz half and half

Dissolve sugar in hot water. Refrigerate until cold.
Add vanilla and stir in half and half.

Simplest chicken dish
cat: poultry, main, mine, today
servings: 1

6 oz diced chicken (I used thighs)
1 Tb soy sauce
2 Tb sherry
1 garlic clove, smashed
1 Tb oil (I used rendered chicken fat)

Marinate chicken in soy and sherry. Drain and
saute until cooked in oil in which a garlic clove
has been fried.

The products tasted kind of crummy but not really sour as
an aged heavily propagated yogurt does. It's still a mystery
to me, and all the weasel wording on the Internet doesn't
help.
