It's tough to give up the familiar until it no longer feels familiar,
or until one has to admit that physically one needs the extra level of
care.  I've seen instances where the acuity really is still there, but
the physical difficulties make it hard for the mind to push through to
show it...

Yup.  That's the dilemma...  :)

Affordable and providing for the need are the more important things,
