We like them ok, but rarely have them.  My favorite nuts are pecan and
cashews, in that order.  I usually will pick the pecans out of a batch
of mixed nuts first, then the cashews.  I find that the almonds are
good, but their flavor is strong  enough to over power the first two
nuts.

Below in the first recipe is a way to really make the pecans extra good.
The second recipe is new to me.  I found it while searching for the
first one.  I note that they do not tell you when to use the orange
zest, but I'd suppose to cook it with all the rest of the items before
you stir in the roasted pecans.

Also, microwave for 20 minutes in the first recipe sound excessive.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Holiday Glazed Pecans
 Categories: Nuts, Holiday
      Yield: 1 servings
 
    1/4 c  Butter
      2 tb Light corn syrup
      2 tb Molasses
      2 tb Water
      1 lb Pecan halves
 
  In a large micro proof bowl, microwave butter on high for 30-45
  seconds,or until melted.  Add corn syrup, molasses and water.
  Microwave on high power for 1 minute or until mixture comes to a boil.
  Add pecan halves and stir mixture until nuts are well coated.

  Spread in one layer in a 7-3/4 x 12 inch micro proof pan.  Microwave,
  uncovered, on medium power for 20-25 minutes, stirring often.  Remove
  pecans from pan to a sheet of waxed paper...cool. Store, covered, in a
  cool place.  Makes 1 lb.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Honey Glazed Pecans
 Categories: Candy, Snack
      Yield: 1 servings
 
      1 lg Naval orange
      1 lb Pecan halves
    1/2 c  Honey
  1 1/2 tb Orange-flavored liqueur
  1 1/2 tb Heavy cream
    1/4 ts Salt
    1/4 ts Ground cinnamon
 
  With vegetable peeler, remove orange part of rind from orange in large
  strips. Cut rind into 1- by 1/8-inch slivers. Use peeled orange
  elsewhere.
  
  Heat oven to 350-F. Line 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan or
  baking sheet with aluminum foil; lightly oil foil. Spread pecan
  halves on prepared pan; bake 10 minutes or until toasted.
  
  Meanwhile, in large skillet, heat honey, liqueur, cream, salt, and
  cinnamon to boiling, stirring frequently. Boil vigorously 2 minutes,
  adjusting heat so that mixture does not boil over skillet.
  
  Stir toasted pecans into honey mixture until well combined. Return
  pecans to prepared pan and bake 10 minutes. Cool pecans in pan on
  wire rack. Store in airtight container.
  
  Per 1/4 cup: 2 g protein, 20 g fat, 14 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 35
  mg sodium, 2 mg cholesterol, 228 calories.
