NB>> I used to use sleep as the final resort for coping with them....
ML> If that were a viable possibility, strikes me that it
ML> could be the first resort.

I was stubborn enough to try to keep going as long as I could. It
didn't stave off the migraine, merely was something to do when I
couldn't function any more.

ML>> and toss to combine. Serve soon, or enjoy a
ML>> pink-looking slaw. (Red cabbage tends to tint
 ML>> mayo dressing pink.)
NB>> I'd think a pinkish slaw could be rather pretty... ;)

ML> Were it a reasonably consistent pinkish, maybe, but
ML> I doubt that red cabbage runs to order.

Oh probably not... but I suppose one could just mix it well before
serving, and even it out mostly... ;)

ML>> I'd rather be 100% immediately, but it looks as though I may
ML>> not ever be 100% at all.
NB>> I hear you... might be just a new normal... but maybe you can get
NB>> back more than you think (or he might expect), eventually.. He
NB>> didn't say something like, you're in pretty good shape for someone
 NB>> your age, I trust... ;)
ML> Someone said that once, I think a physician, not recently,
ML> though. I've had this week in Florida and have slept through
 ML> much of it -

Sleep is not a bad thing at all at this stage of things... although it
can be rather disheartening if one was expecting to do all sorts of fun
things instead, admittedly...

ML> friend who is a public health doc (and can say
ML> things that regular docs don't) said that she estimated that
ML> it would be 6 months to get back to normal - not what I
 ML> particularly want to hear.

As a friend, she probably feels freer than the regular docs, too.. and
probably has a better feel for what you are at normal... but maybe
she's overestimating things a little... You did, though, stress that
body pretty badly...

 ML> I basically can't move my arms
ML> without considerable discomfort, pretty weird.

Ya know, that's probably those abused veins complaining still...

ML>> In fact it now turns out that one of the versions of my
ML>> medical record has me undergoing a second brain operation
ML>> and being on antiseizure medications for it (as well as
ML>> a couple drugs that I have never been on).
NB>> How interesting. Did they conflate persons, or just add in something
 NB>> that might have happened...?
ML> Conflating persons, possibly, insurance fraud on somebody's
ML> part, less likely (they have this identity verification
ML> procedure that borders on the silly).

Even the ridiculous procedures can let something off through...

 ML> A very remote possibility
ML> is that the hospitalization happened and I lost all memory of
ML> it, so I went and pulled my travel records, and in fact I was
ML> on the road when the procedure was supposed to have occurred.

Then that is pretty well unlikely if not impossible... :)

ML>> It took the doc a bunch of time to correct the records
ML>> (fixing the incompetence of the data entry people to be
ML>> paid for by the insurance, at some inflated rate no doubt).
NB>> One wonders, too, if that was incompetence or an instance of
 NB>> insurance fraud...
ML> I rather doubt it, see above, as a matter of patient
ML> malfeasance; and there would be no reason for the hospital
ML> to do a fraud against itself, as it and the insurer are part
 ML> of the same company.

One would think.

NB>> wondered about myself... "Tb of vertebrae" turned out to be
NB>> tuberculosis of the spine... as I had no recollection of ever being
NB>> diagnosed with such, nor did he, he removed it... we suspect the
NB>> wrong code being entered... but what the right one should have been,
NB>> neither of us had any idea... ;)
ML> I actually have been diagnosed with possible tuberculosis,
ML> self-contained and long in the past - there are old lesions
ML> in my lungs, but the person who found this decided that it
ML> hadn't been an important occurrence, so no fuss was made
ML> about it, and if it were further investigated and became
ML> prominent in my record it might pose problems with my being
 ML> admitted to some countries.

Sounds like something to leave alone, for sure... And if it is long
past, and not at all active, it shouldn't be a worry... Old lesions
might have been made by something else, too...
