There's the bullying issue. Some people who would do better
as outliers try to fit in, and one of the standard mechanisms
is to pick on those whom they perceive as farther out than
themselves. It is the duty of the near outliers to resist that
rather strong tendency and that of the mavericks not to knuckle
under when faced with the obnoxiousness.

That's the focus, but there are so many tantalizing side issues
to explore.

In this case, it seems advantageous to all parties.

The proper proper answer - one that I've not been cruel
enough to use even on my brother - would be "get over it."

CRUST
1 3/4 c  Macaroon crumbs; soft
- about 7 2" cookies
1/4 c  Butter flavor Crisco; melted
FILLING
2 pt Lime sherbet; softened
1 1/2 c  Macaroon crumbs; soft
- about 6 2" cookies
1 qt Vanilla ice cream; softened

  CRUST: Pregeat oven to 350F. Lightly grease 9" pie palte. Combine 1-3/4
crumbs and melted butter flavor Crisco. Press into greased pie plate.
  FILLING: Spread 1 pint lime sherbet in cooled crust. Freeze about 1 hr
until firm. Combine ice cream and 1-1/2 cup macaroon crumbs. Spread vevnly
over sherbet. Freeze about 1 hr until firm. Spread remaining sherbet over
ice cream. Freeze several hr. Remove from freezer 10-15 min before
serving.
