You have to, or risk having several in the same generation carrying the
same name. Nothing wrong with that, just keeping sorted who's in what
family gets to be more fun for later generations.

And there are those that may be related on first glance that end up not
being so.

Of courst by the time it gets grease splattered, you've probably made
the recipe enough times to be pretty sure of the amounts needed of most
all the ingredients.
