There was probably a different approach to pedagogy then, too..  ;)

It's possible that she might have run into Richard's mom at the state
conferences... not sure that Mom went to them, but she was a highschool
librarian at the same time that your mom was a school librarian.  She'd
started out as an English and French teacher, and then picked up the LS
degree at some point after her husband died... I think before Richard
went off to college, maybe even while Phil was still home... She got her
degree from Onondaga, I think....

Sometimes it's not obviously obvious...  but dementia sometimes is
"kinder" to the sufferer by taking that away, too...
