It appears to be de Joux or de Joue (spelling in the late 13th century
also being somewhat fluid)...  Deyo is the spelling that the family used
here pretty consistently.  And, in checking back to my records,
apparently I found 41 variants of the name in the New Paltz church
records from 1683 to 1810... so I remembered low... ;)

A cautionary tale, indeed...  :)  From what I've seen rummaging through
records though I'd say less was condescension and more just mentally
transcribing sounds differently..

And don't forget the coffee bean, also used in desserts by
westerners.... ;)   Red bean paste is clearly a sweet... :)  We were
a little surprised the first time we had Fu's homemade red bean ice
cream that there were pieces of bean all through (sorta been expecting
something more homogeneous like having bean paste mixed in or
something), but it was very good, and the beans are somewhat sweet
themselves, which I also hadn't expected.  :)

I'm not familiar with that brand of chocolate... But I do tend to avoid
dollar store chocolate anyway....

Some places it's not taking much of a chance, just a new experience. 
Sometimes we might ask what to expect, but so far anything Fu makes is
just very good, so we can afford to be surprised... ;)
