Apparently. I got so hot that at one point I thought it
would become a "police matter." But it turns out I would
have been vindicated!

It was an indy. Even independents can cheat.

She actually brought out one of those jiggers with a big
side and a little side and tried to give me a lesson on
how things went in the real world. That's when I pretty
much lost it.

I prefer my peas as peas, nothing but them and butter.
Even bacon and pearl onions, foods I normally enjoy,
and traditional additions to green peas, are off limits.

Easy alu mattar
categories: fake Indian, vegetarian, mine
serves: 4

2 to 3 large boiling potatoes, diced
salted water
1 lg onion, minced fine
1 Tb oil
2 Tb tomato paste or to taste
water
4 to 5 Tb garam masala paste
10 oz pkg frozen peas

Set the potatoes to boil in salted water.

Saute the onion in the oil until it is quite limp and
fairly well browned . Add the tomato paste and slosh it
around awhile. Add water to make a gravy consistency.
Add the cooked potato bits and slosh around a bit more.
Add the garam masala paste (or other curry paste, whatever
you have around the house) and slosh around so there aren't
any blobs of paste left. Add more water if necessary. Add
the peas. Cook 10 min or so and serve over rice with some
kind of bread on the side.
