You never know with towns... there's some rather untownly names in
central PA, for example... or in the Old West...  :)

To one extent or another... some more than others...

I never did get any home ec classes (mostly in schools too small to have
that except as possibly enrichment like the sewing class offered along
with choir, art, etc one day a week), only training at home as oldest of
8, so necessary education in cooking and cleaning... ;)  Daddy taught us
to be discriminating shoppers, whether in the grocery store, the 5 & 10,
or the second-hand bookstore... partly by precept, partly by example. ;)
