Indeed. And on that occasion, if I didn't go through many
pills, I'd have gone hungry.

Frugal me, I sliced and froze the meat but couldn't bring
myself to eat it - it now resides in my brother's freezer,
and if he finds it and eats it, more power to him.

Today I went with friends to Fuddrucker's (the three places
in walking distance were this, a churrascaria where I've had
bad recent experience, and a nasty American-Chinese place),
and I was in a mood and ate (with the aid of pills) a lot of
the jalapeno cheese whizzoid that comes on their fixings bar.
I'm suffering from this even as I tyle.

If I can get a really rare piece, I prefer roasted;
otherwise, steak has more flavor and to me a better
texture.

Italian fresh pork sausage is no substitute for loukaniko,
which is almost always flavored with orange peel. I've had it
with cheese, as below, and do not recommend that variation.

Loukaniko
categories: Greek, sausage, dairy
servings: 6

1 lb ground pork
1/2 lb ground beef
1/4 cup dry wine
1 ts chopped parsley
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese or 1/4 c choice cheese
1 ts grated orange zest
1/2 ts crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 ts salt
1/2 ts pepper
1/4 ts anise flavoring

Mix all ingredients.

Roll meat mixture into quarter size balls, and bake
or broil for 15 - 20 min depending on your oven.

Drain meat balls on a paper towel before serving or a
dding them to your favorite sauce.
