ML> What part is awkwared? It's the skeevy part that's skeevy.

Not putting the preposition at the end but where it belongs according to the
rules of Billy Grammar. It just sounds and reads better, to me, with the
preposition at the end of the phrase. However, I had it drilled into my
gourd-head by various teachers and editors that a preposition is something
never to end a sentence with. Bv)= Also infinitives aren't for splitting, nor
participles for dangling. (ref: Strunk and White "Elements of Style)

 ML> I don't know that I'd mind their getting a rake-off,
ML> but I'd likely mind hanging around the folks.

I don't do large crowds and organised tours/events very well. So, even if I am
free at the time and have the dosh - it ain't gonna happen.

 DD> Who dat?

DD> The only rappers I enjoyed (as rappers) were Sugar Hill Gang (the
 DD> original hip-hop bunch)

 ML> Who dat?

The Sugarhill Gang are an American hip hop group, known mostly for its 1979 hit
"Rapper's Delight," the first rap single to become a Top 40 hit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cELt9nCWY_0 - they were listenable, dancable
(if one was into that sort of gyration) and they didn't use a lot of (expletive
deleted) stuff.

ML> If so, why didn't the Japs take advantage of their then-low
ML> labor costs and as they seem to have done in other fields
ML> blow us out of the water with quality?

DD> No one was willing to pay the $$$ for quality - that's why.

ML> At that time, and I'm not totally convinced that it's the Japanese'
ML> fault, they could have produced the quality for not that much (to
ML> us) more. What is the Japanese' fault is Bataan, which I was
ML> thinking of visiting today, but it involved a 6-hour bus ride each
 ML> way.

Better a 6 hour bus ride than a several day slog through the jungle. And the
jerky animation isn't totally the Japans' fault. They did what they were paid
to do. Which just happened to suck rocks and make me long for Woody Woodpecker
or even Darkwing Duck.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Texas Woodpecker Eggs
 Categories: Eggs, Cheese, Pork, Breads
      Yield: 7 servings

     18 sm Eggs; boiled, peeled
3/4 lb Pepper jack cheese; grated
1/2 lb Pork breakfast sausage; use
           - Hot if you like
  1 1/2 c Buttermilk biscuit mix
           - (Bisquick)
6 oz Box Shake-n-Bake for Pork
      3 lg Eggs; beaten

  Preheat oven to 300oF/150oC.

Lightly spray a large baking pan with cooking spray.

Mix together the sausage (raw) and grated pepper Jack
  cheese.

Add biscuit mix in, 1/2 cup at a time, until all is
  thoroughly mixed.

This will make a very stiff dough, and should now be
  kneaded for about 3 minutes.

Pinch off pieces of the dough, almost the size of the
eggs, and flatten out the piece into a "pancake", about
  1/4" thick.

Place one boiled, peeled egg in the center of each
"pancake" and roll the dough around each egg to cover it
  all the way around evenly.

Seal any edges together with your fingers.

Continue this until all of the eggs are covered in the
  dough.

Place the box of Shake' N Bake into a large shallow dish.

Crack the 3 additional raw eggs into a bowl; season with a
pinch of salt and black pepper and beat.

Roll each egg in the Shake' N Bake, then in the egg wash,
and back again through the Shake 'N Bake.

Lay each egg on the prepared baking sheet as it is done.

Bake at 300oF/150oC degrees for 30 minutes.

  Makes: 6 to 8 servings
