I had to do something fancy tho, so did the sauerbraten. Had enough
leftovers for 3 meals (just need to cook noodles or spaezle or similar,
fresh), now in the freezer in individual packages.

All depends on how much you want to master (or not) making a certain
dish or cuisine. Most Asian cooking I leave to others but will do a
"knock your socks off" lasagne or sauerbraten for example.

We had nothing on the agenda last night so I did it after I came home
from quilting. Early tomorrow morning Steve is going to put a Boston
Butt on the smoker so it will be done before he has a 6pm committment.

And Dad will never learn to appreciate something like curry.

None of us kids challenged her cooking (while growing up) either. That
might have made a differnce, had we done so. In all probability, most
likely not, however. Instead, we all went our own direction, cooking
wise. I suspect I cook the most variety of cuisines of all my siblings.

It made enough for the meal last night and just enough extra to put up
for the 3 more meals of sauerbraten. Usually the cabbages I find make
enough for twice that number of meals--Lowe's had the big ones in the
regular produce section but the smaller ones in the organic section.
Paid about the same or maybe less, for a smaller organic as opposed to a
larger, non organic red cabbage.

Do they have spaezle? We'll have to check them out!
