I can understand all of the above, though octopus sushi is
so seldom done nicely.

Used to be a real psychological issue - almost as though the
stuff had consciously tried to do me in.

I don't have a thing for or against eating dogs, snakes, or
tigers, which I've had actually dangerous, close, or perceived
encounters with.

It's a respectable enough dish, though I never order it.

Because of the way our discussion has gone, I'm on this kick of
trying to figure the heat value of dishes (almost as futie as
figuring out the nutritional value). A quick estimate of that
recipe would be 200-300 - I originally read that recipe as having
a pound of main ingredient, but it's 1/2 lb meat OR 1/2 lb of
vegetables, so the servings are very tiny, and if the peppers are
bird peppers or at least of a substantial heat, the dish might be
spicy enough as is. I'd do the 10 peppers anyway.

The phall recipe would go well at the end of this post,
but I already used it. This at least is a curry.

---------- Recipe via UNREGISTERED Meal-Master (tm) v8.01

      Title: DRY POTATO CURRY
 Categories: Menu, Vegetarian, Indian, Boat, D/g
      Yield: 4 servings

      1 lb Potato; Red skins- fresh grated
           Salt to taste
      2 tb Vegetable oil
      1 ts Mustard seeds
      1    Onion; finely sliced
      2    Garlic cloves
      1    (1 inch) piece ginger root
      1    Green chile; seeded, chopped
      1 ts Ground cumin
      1 ts Ground turmeric
    1/2 ts Red (cayenne) pepper
    1/4 c  Green pepper; strips
      - to garnish if desired

  Cut Potatoes into 3/4 inch chunks.

  Cook potatoes in boiling salted water 6 to 8 min, until just tender.
  Drain and set aside.  Heat oil in a large saucepan, add mustard seeds and
  onions.  Cook 5 min until onions are soft, but not brown. Stir in
  garlic and ginger root; cook 1 min more.

  Add cooked potatoes, chile, turmeric, cayenne and cumin.  Stir well. Cover
  and cook 3 to 5 min, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are very
  tender and coated with spices.  Serve hot, garnished with bell pepper
  strips.
