From what I understand, everyone's got a pre-cataract
condition. Sort of one of the weaknesses of the system.

New York at least has stop lights that people are
pretty much forced to obey or at least pay attention
to because of the volume and slowness of the traffic.

For pedestrians, even when crossing one-way streets it
generally makes sense to do what you were taught to do
as a kid, look both ways. More than once I've been
near missed by a vehicle going the wrong way on a one-
way street. And just yesterday I got an e-mail from a
buddy who pled deep mourning as the reason he hasn't
been in touch - his daughter, engaged to be married in
a month, was mashed by a truck that eyewitnesses said
had been going the wrong way on a one-way street. He
said that the only consolation was that it happened so
quickly she probably never knew what hit her.

Well. Here's one that might be interesting (I could see
some people cutting the butter in half or doing what I
do - use rendered cavity fat).

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.00

      Title: Mushroom Stuffing  [For 12-Pound Turkey]
 Categories: Cyberealm, Side dishes
      Yield: 1 servings

      1 lb Fresh mushrooms
     10 bn Green onions
      1 c  Butter or margarine-2 sticks
     12 c  Coarse soft white-bread
           Crumbs (24 slices)
      1 ts Salt

  1.  Wash mushrooms and trim; chop caps and stems. (There will be
  about 5
    1/2 cups.)

  2.  Trim onions and slice. (There will be about 6 cups.)

  3.  Sauté mushrooms and onions in butter in a large frying pan 10
  minutes,
    or just until wilted.  Pour over bread crumbs in a large bowl;
  sprinkle
    with salt; toss lightly until evenly moist.

  Makes approximately 10 cups or enough to stuff a 12-pound bird.
