JK> haha yes, for sure I know that now. I just figured I'd try it and
JK> see. Live and learn (G)

After all, one does have to experiment with one's new toy... ;) As
long as nothing's broken permanently in the process, anyway... ;)

JK> Time to take a hammer to the fennel? :) That's silly I guess (g) But
JK> glad you can still manage that.

Yeah... :) Actually, a small amount I'm still ok with... and if more
needs doing, I generally can get Richard (or some other willing helper)
to grind it for me instead... I also learned that if doing both anise
and fennel, I can mix them, and if in small enough quantities at a time
it makes it seem to go better... :) It's not something I do often, and
lately not at all, since it was for the Swedish Christmas rye bread I
was making for my husband's s-i-l for the Backus Christmas, which isn't
happening any more.. For a year or so after that stopped, I still made
the bread for my family's Christmas, as the second loaf had been brought
there over the years, and it was somewhat expected by then...

JK> Oh yes, that's for sure... I've always stayed away from "One Machine
JK> Does It All" kind of set ups.. probably goes back to the idea of sound
JK> systems that put together turntables/radios/receivers (how's that for
JK> ancient? LOL)... but really, I was never one to buy a sound system that
JK> could die from one component giving up the ghost. So that carried into
JK> my thoughts for keeping the kitchen equipment separate.

Makes sense to me. ;) The all-in-one systems had/have their place, I
suppose... ;) My Walkman was useful for taking to camp with me...
choice of cassettes or radio, and all on batteries... ;)

JK> I want to see how often that transmission fails on the Bosch before I
JK> get the blender, for sure. Won't do any good to kill the thing since

JK> all :) Then I tried my grain mill... that blew the fuse on it :(
JK> Luckily I was able to find the fuses quickly for it.

Sounds like you should have taken a hammer to the chickpeas... (G)
Isn't your current blender a Ninja...?

JK> Yeah... they were like a direct sugar crash :)

JK> hahaha yes, that's for sure... They can put food away like most
JK> teenagers I remember, even though the two youngest are just 8 and 11 :)
JK> I guess 11 is close enough to qualify for teen years though (g).

11's pretty close, yeah... ;) And even some younger kids have very
good appetites, too... :)

 > I've found that a good indication of when I'm way overtired is when I

JK> I remember Ron reading somewhere that was an indication of fatigue
JK> caused by diabetes or high sugar levels.. so I usually cut back on

Interesting... usually in my case, there have been good reasons to be
overtired, and I should have been hungry enough to eat a reasonably
meal, having not eaten for quite a while...

JK> starches and sugars etc. Helps so far.. but I've known I'm been kind
JK> of close for a number of years (like 10 or something)... and so I have
JK> had to watch it for a while. Mom had diabetes so I remember the
JK> signs... Not something I would want to have to deal with permanently
 JK> that's for sure.

For sure. :) There's been diabetes in my family, too... and I was was
taking care of someone that had it... my doctor was concerned about me
for a while, but my A1C blood work has been coming back just fine, so
he's backed off on that... Cinnamon, fiber, and vinegar are all good
for keeping sugar levels good... also onions and garlic and turmeric..
