If I keel over suddenly, not such a big deal to me. If
it's a slow list before the kerplop, much worse.

Not sure I like that - I prefer specific problems to
deal with and be done with them.

I didn't go to either high-school or college reunions
until 30th and 25th respectively, as I recall. Since then
I've been an occasional participant.

Possibly, but of the airline foldings I'm familiar with,
only Ansett's totally stiffed its customers. Any successor
airline would be alienating a bunch of customers by not
honoring its predecessor's program; though the costs of
doing so would be great, the cost of alienation would be
greater. Ansett had no successor, so that wasn't much of
a problem, except to the program members.

To a certain extent, but the rewards (in most ways) are
fewer and the costs looming large.

Ikan Pepes
categories: Balinese, Singaporean, fish, main
servings: 1

150 g white snapper fillet
- sliced into sashimi-thick pieces
2 Tb bumbu ikan paste (recipe below)
2 Tb yellow rempah (recipe below)
2 cm lemongrass, bruised
4 basil leaves
1 salam leaf
1 kaffir lime leaf
2 sl tomato
1 Tb oyster sauce
1 Tb coconut milk
2 banana leaves
1 Tb canola oil
h - Bumbu Ikan (pounded into a thick paste)
50 g galangal, sliced
100 g ginger, sliced
100 g fresh tumeric, sliced
30 g ginger, sliced
100 g lemongrass, sliced
80 g garlic, minced
50 g shallot, minced
10 g red chilli, seeded and minced
5 g belachan
5 g palm sugar
5 g chilli padi, sliced
30 g coriander seeds
1 ds ground white pepper
h - Rempah (pound all into a yellow paste)
200 g shallots, sliced
60 g garlic, sliced
20 g fresh tumeric, sliced
10 g galangal, sliced
10 g ginger, sliced
1 Tb coriander seeds or powder

Steamed Curry Fish in Banana Leaves

Fry bumbu ikan paste in oil until dry and toasty, 7 min.
Leave to cool. Do the same with the yellow rempah.

Mix fillets with cooled bumbu paste, rempah, oyster
sauce, coconut milk, and basil leaves.

Place fish fillets on a mound, topped with tomatoes,
salam leaves, kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass.

Wrap and secure with toothpicks.

Steam 10-15 min.

Serve with additional sliced chillis, basil leaves,
and crackers.
