The only thing that spooked me was the depth of the wound.
One of the items included in the care kit was a sterile
pack of long-handled swabs. I asked Bill what they were for,
and he said that they were to poke the dressing into the
deeper recesses of the cavity.

There may be that, as cheese really heightens the sewagy
aspects, and maybe that's considered a good thing in some
circles?

Speaking of which, I went past the Providence airport train stop
yesterday, and the winds and storms had smashed the shelter.

Speaking of which, I'm invited to my friend? Ann's for dinner
tonight. I've been apprised by a third party that the main dish
for the evening is cheese souffle.

Yes, but we were frazzled enough to have a bunch of drinks
afterward Measure for Measure.

I have managed to pack one valsartan a day instead of two, which
meant cutting pills in half and getting a barely thrapeutic dose
if that for a week.

I'll be pretty loyal to friends, but if concepts and principles
contradict, more often than not I'll go with the latter. When
human pain is involved, I try to go with the lesser damage;
luckily the situations that have required this kind of decision
have been rare in my life.

Which brings up the can of worms of love vs. fairness. Do you
practice favoritism or not? I haven't a good answer for this.

True, though I stubbornly refuse to play that game (making me
approximately unique among my friends in the frequent-flying
world).

There used to be a strong out-west contingent in the echo, and
I think he and Hap were the last to drop off.

Infamous Wisdom
cat: booze, Okie, pretentious
servings: 1

1 1/2 oz Calvados
1 oz fresh blood orange juice
3/4 oz amaro, preferably Montenegro
1/2 oz maraschino liqueur, preferably Luxardo
1/2 oz rye
2 dashes orange bitters
1 Amarena cherry for garnish
 
Combine ingredients except cherry in a cocktail
shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and
strain into a chilled coupe glass; garnish
with cherry.
