Pretty much all of Arizona would need water management and
probably irrigation for English-style landscaping. I was
saddened to find out that what I was taught in elementary
school, that the state name came from arid+zone, was merely
a folk etymology.

Cactus I am told do not have deep roots - as water goes
away rapidly after a rain, shallow very absorbent roots
are what's called for. But crummy xeroscape is not a big
surprise, as there's crummy landscaping of all sorts, and
crummy is cheaper than competent.

good, ever, by anyone.

Steamed Pork Patty with Salted Fish Recipe
categories: Cantonese, main
servings: 4 

250 g minced pork
- (pork mix should be 1/2 fatty pork)
2 pieces chinese salted fish (any size you prefer
- just remember should be approx 5-10% of total mass)
1 pn baking soda
1 ts sea salt
1 ts soy sauce
1 1/2 ts sugar
1/4 ts white pepper
1 ts Shao Hsing Rice Wine
4 drops sesame oil
1 1/2 ts potato starch (or corn starch)
2 Tb slivered ginger

Mix pork with with all ingredients except the starch
and ginger.  Mix the pork vigorously in one direction
only until fluffy.  Add the starch and mix in well,
still in that one direction.  Let mixture marinate for
10 min or so.  Heat up steamer water to boiling.  Pat
the pork into your serving dish (should be a wide low
dish so that the pork patty mixture can fit comfortably
with a 3/4" height).  Place the two pieces of salted
fish over the patty and then sprinkle the ginger slivers
all over.  Place carefully into the bamboo steamer,
being careful of the hot steam.  Steam over high heat
for 18 min.  Take out and serve hot.
