And not as rose-y as I'd expected... tasted just like rose petals smell,
I've had rose-flavored Turkish Delight that just seemed rather odd...

On the other hand, he felt it would go well with the escargots, so
that's how we had it...  the McGregors we just sipped, whilst he was
preparing the escargots and the fake escargots...  ;)

Made with love.  (G)  Reason you can't recall, the peppery cheese was a
Pepper Jack, and what you remember as Monterey Jack was an extra-sharp
cheddar, or maybe it was the sharp cheddar... the two cheddars were a
little hard to tell apart... :)  But all very good...  ;)

Michael called them Chinese comfort food.  :)  I could easily have had
more, too...  :)

Why thank you kindly.  :)   I started it simmering Friday night, skinned
it Saturday morning and then we just let it steep in its juices until
time to heat it for the meal...  Spiced it the way my parents used to
make it, with peppercorns, whole allspice, cloves, bay leaves, minced
onions, parsley flakes, and a little salt.  The texture changes somewhat
when cold, it's a little firmer than when it's warm...  :)
