I95 between Richmond and Petersburg became toll free in 1992. I95 is
still a toll road in New Jersey (New Jersey Turnpike). We were on it
last Friday. The New York Thruway includes parts of I87, I95, I287,
I90, and I190. A map can be seen on
www.thruway.ny.gov/travelers/map/index.html. The information is from the
FAQ section of the web site.

I did not like stopping every few miles to throw change into a
recepticle on the R/P Turnpike. The Thruway's method of getting a ticket
on entry and paying on exit was better. The EZ-Pass is better yet,
especially since there are now EZ-Pass Express lanes that can read the
transponder at higher speeds in some places.

Since we are talking about expressways, a quickbread recipe might be in
order. This one is also good since Zucchini is coming into season.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.04

      Title: Whole Wheat Zucchini Bread
 Categories: Quickbreads, Vegetables
      Yield: 8 servings

    3/4 c  Whole wheat flour
    3/4 c  Flour
  1 1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Baking soda
      1 ts Ground cinnamon
    1/2 ts Ground nutmeg
      1    Egg
    1/4 c  Sugar
      1 ts Vanilla
      2 tb Plus (see next ingredient)
      2 ts -margarine, melted
  1 1/2 c  Finely shredded, unpeeled
           -zucchini
    1/2 c  Raisins

  Preheat oven to 350. Combine flours, baking powder, baking soda, and
  spices. In another bowl, combine egg, sugar, vanilla, and margarine
  until well blended. Add zucchini and raisins. Combine wet and dry
  mixtures together until moistened. Place in a 4X8 nonstick loaf pan
  or one that has been sprayed with a nonstick cooking spray. Bake 50
  minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes,
  then turn out onto rack to finish cooling.

  Per serving: 4g protein, 5g fat, 32g carb., 187mg sodium, 34mg chol.,
  183 calories.
