We would have had the applesauce for dessert. The French or Italian
bread was an inexpensive enough splurge to go with cheap white (store
brand or Mueller's) pasta. Other than that, my folks bought the
inexpensive white sandwich ("balloon bread" according to Dr. David
Ruben) locally. Once they got a stand alone freezer (when I was in
college) they would get bread at the day old shops in Kingston or
Oneonta if they were there for other purposes. Other than spaghetti
nights, the only other times bread was on the supper table was to go
under beef stew or chili.

My mom bought 2 boxes; it made enough to give us each 2 pieces. My MIL
would make up several boxes or use the bagged bread mix (don't know the
name) to make several pizzas for the family (7, like ours).

We didn't have the pot pies. Dad was looking for easy do lunches that a
beginning cook could have ready without too much fuss & bother. He
thought the big cans of ravioli would be a good idea but in the end, it
wasn't as good as he thought it would be.

OK, I've had some decent restaurant ones but most anything beats what my
mom made. (G) Most times tho, when we go out for Italian food, we don't
get lasagne; we go for something I usually don't make.

Just have to watch the numbers. I overslept this morning so when I did
the morning check, it was about 90 minutes later than usual. The reading
was 63 so I grabbed a small glass of apple juice as part of breakfast.

Basically just to raise awareness of the market & what's offered. Market
manager said most places would charge about twice that so she thought it
was reasonable. We could afford that if it were for the 2 of us, but not
per person, so we'll cook for ourselves, using some market produce.
