It's been many years now... and lots of kitties since... but from what
we remember, he was white, with some black splotches and some more brown
splotches... no golden to them at all... and not really any gray...  We
don't remember whether there were tiger stripes in the blotches... (I
asked Richard to help remember... [g])   He actually "belonged" to
friends of ours that had moved into student housing that wouldn't allow
any pets... so we boarded him for them...

Patterns are hard to break...  :)  They're probably still getting used
to the fact that Toby is gone, too...  :)

They're lab mixes aren't they... :)  Did you ever find out what else is
in them...?  Yeah, Sophie's probably thinking, gotta humor mommy, even
if it is beneath my dignity...  ;)

That's kids for you... living in the moment... and noticing
everything... ;)  Is the baby fairly brand-new...?   At 5 and 3, they're
probably old enough to comprehend death... even if it isn't really any
easier for them than for us...  It is, after all, a fact of life... and
hiding it from them doesn't help them.  We took our then 4-year-old to
his great-grampa's funeral and burial... four years later, when
great-gramma died, he was explaining everything to his cousins, then 8
and 5 (who had been deemed too young to attend the earlier occasion),
quite matter-of-factly...
