Most people use the devices for trips they don't need
them for. Including the Shipps - I think it's one of
Dale's hobbies to laugh at the machine when it tries
to lead him astray.

 Last time I used my old Magellan was

It's what is beginning to pass for such, though. There was
a recent scandal when it came out that many restaurants in
France, including well-regarded ones, were not only using
sauces from a factory (dubious practice) but full-blown
microwave meals. Something that Stouffer's led the way with
in the 1960s and 1970s at its restaurants.

I had the rare opportunity to taste turkey vs. pork
bologna and pimiento loaf yesterday. Not going to report
on this event other than to say that the pork was almost
as bad as the turkey.

Old Chicago Bean Pie

yield: 2

2 (15 oz) cn pinto or navy beans (or 2 c cooked dry beans)
- drained and mashed
1/4 lb butter, melted
14 oz cn evaporated milk
4 eggs
1 ts ground cinnamon
1 ts ground nutmeg
1/4 ts ground allspice
1 ts baking powder
3 c sugar
1 ts vanilla extract
1 1/2 c shredded coconut
2 (9 in)  pie crusts

Preheat the oven to 350F. In electric blender, blend
beans, butter, milk, eggs, spices and baking powder
about 2 min on medium speed.

Pour into a large mixing bowl.  Stir in sugar and
vanilla till well blended. Fold in coconut.

Pour into pie shells. Bake 1 hr. Makes 2 pies.
