Which means then that the threshold is negligible, because
my hospital owns both the optical service and the insurance
company, and the optical service at least normally owns the
lab. I wonder about doing a re-exam.

As it turns out, he provided contrary evidence.

There is that issue.

That last is just barely apparent to me even now, and the
letters are multiple unless I go stationary.

All those perceptual pathways are changing. It's kind of cool,
but there are moments of unsteadiness, and not just equilibrium.

Red Wine Braised Short Ribs
categories: Singaporean, main
servings: 6 to 8

3 kg bone-in short ribs
2 Tb olive oil
1 lg onion, diced
1 hd garlic, minced
2 ribs celery, 1/2" cubes
2 stalks carrots, 1/2" cubes
4 Tb tomato paste
2 c red wine 
2 c unsalted or low-sodium beef broth
2 c unsalted or low-sodium chicken broth
1 ts ground oregano
1 ts dried rosemary
1 bn fresh thyme, tied together with butcher's twine
3 bay leaves

Brown ribs, salting liberally, in olive oil, taking
care not to overcrowd the pan.

Set aside browned ribs in large pot.

With 2 Tb beef fat-infused olive oil, fry onions
until translucent, about 2 min.

Add garlic, frying 1 min until fragrant.

Add carrots, frying for 2 min until softened.

Add celery, frying for 2 min until softened.

Add tomato paste, tossing through until fragrant,
about 1 min.

Add wine, reduce by half.

Add stock.

Transfer to pot with browned short ribs.

Add thyme and herbs. Bring to a boil, then lower
to a simmer for 1 hr, or until desired tenderness.

There's no real need to salt any further, but feel
free to sprinkle more if you like. Serve with
polenta, potato mash or crusty bread.
