Well, that's because I'm the one feeling it.

You can say that about most sausages, which were
traditionally the last resort of the otherwise unusable
bits of meat. That's why they're so darn salty. The
Germans, spending more of their lives than normal people
sticking pigs, became experts at such (though not as much
so as the French, with their andouille and andouillettes).

I came to like cherries via the almond connection. I still
prefer almond. Remember that recently I did a report on the
Niederegger marzipans? I had a half pound ready for the echo
to taste but got hungry when it was raining (and was too wicked
witchy to want to go out) and ate the whole thing all at once.
I'll have to think of something else to bring to the picnic.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Ukrainian  Chrustyky
 Categories: Dessert, Ukrainian, Ethnic, Slavic
      Yield: 4 Servings

      4 c  Sifted flour
      6    Egg yolks -- well beaten
      1 c  Sour cream
      2 tb Sugar
    1/4 ts Salt
      1 ts Vanilla
      2 tb Butter
    1/2 ts Almond flavoring
    
  Beat egg yolks until light.  Add to dry ingredients together with sour
  cream, vanilla, butter and almond flavoring.  Knead well.  Roll to
  1/8 inch thickness. Cut into strips 1 x 3 inches with pastry wheel.
  Make a lengthwise slit in center of each strip and pull one end
  through. Fry in hot deep fat for approximately 2 min or until
  lightly browned. Drain on heavy paper.  When cold, sprinkle with
  confectioners' sugar. Makes 9 dozen. ORIGIN: Galina Teravenskaya,
