That committee is made mostly of enthusiastic audience
members who have excelled in their various fields and who
thus imagine they have good musical judgment. The other
committee, where I am actually listened to (not necessarily
taken seriously), is made up mostly of real and former
musicians. Speaking of which, the gray eminence on my third
committee, my friend Gunther, died last Sunday, and I was
previously committed to be out of town the day of his
memorial service.

Still have a hard time reading no matter what the technique.

Tarantula Jacks Famous Chili
categories: stews, main
yield: 1 pot, 6 to 8 servings

3 lb cubed beef
2 md sweet onions, finely chopped
3 lg cloves garlic, finely minced
2 cn (10 oz ea) chicken broth
12 oz Hunt's tomato sauce
12 oz diced tomatoes
1 cn red kidney beans (optional)
7 Tb Gebhardt's chili powder
2 Tb ground cumin
1/4 ts Tabasco sauce

Saute beef in skillet. Put beef into your favorite chili
pot and simmer 90 min with onions, garlic, and broth. Keep
your hands off and leave the lid on!

Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans if
you're using them, the  chili powder and the cumin. Stir.

15 min before eatin' time, take off the lid and enjoy the
aroma of the greatest chili ever to slide into a melmac bowl!

Add the Tabasco. Put the lid back on and simmer another
15 min. Add salt to taste.

Serve with a cold Budweiser.
