That's going a bit too far in your direction. I like protein but not
quite to that extent. I also don't mind a certain amount of carbs. In
the case of a meal like the above, I'd have one (or two) burgers on one
bun and a few of the fries or skip the fries and have a salad in their
place.

I've found they can cope with leaving the cheese (?) slice off the fish
sandwich. Maybe that takes less thought?

Sometimes so, sometimes not. Depends on who's cooking, how much
attention is paid when cooking.
