Those three were all essentially Buffalo stores...  The one I remember
here was in Henrietta, one of our suburbs... there probably was also one
in Greece and possibly other places, but it was quite a while ago now...

They had a pretty good reputation around here, and I do remember that
there were quite a few people rather sad when they closed...

That may well have been the decor for the ones around here... the
outside of the building at least would have given one that idea... I
remember that better than the interior...  ;)

With a good chef, it's better... with a mediocre one, probably a little
(or a lot) worse...

Around here, buffets do better than that... and some of them do pretty
well at keeping decent food nicely still edible...  We got spoiled,
though, with one chinese buffet place here called Mandarin Buffet...
their food was consistently very good, despite having been sitting on
the steam tables... better than many regular sit-down restaurants...
unfortunately, the owner was also addicted to gambling, and lost it in a
game...

Taste of Japan has a wide variety of Japanese foods... from teriyaki to
noodles to domburi to tempura, along with sushi of all sorts... but
then, Fu has been cooking all of these, at other restaurants for other
owners, for decades...

And right after asking, and getting the response, I noticed that it,
too, is on Fu's menu... I'll have to try it sometime...
