I spake too soon.

Glen's coral wound was getting bigger (closing in on
silver dollar size), and the red patch around it was
getting redder and warmer, so Lilli and I browbeat him
into calling the clinic for another appointment. They
gave him one for at 1:20, and he reluctantly agreed
to go, saying that we should go into town and he would
take care of himself. We refused to abandon him and
said we would walk him there (about half a mile), which
we did, then wait for him, then walk him home. Good
thing we did. He made it to the clinic okay, and to
the pharmacy to pick up a new prescription, but on the
way back, a few steps from the house, he collapsed. We
flagged down a passerby and had 000 called, and in what
seemed to be way too long a wait (probably 5 minutes),
the ambulance came and whisked him, by now quite
unconscious, to the hospital.

I left a machine with his son Jason's answering service,
and we got word a couple hours later that Glen had been
admitted from the ER with low blood pressure and a
suspected stroke (this latter now appears not to have
been the case). Jason came back from the hospital at
around 2 with the news that his dad would be in until
probably the weekend but with the possibility a good
behavior release of Thursday or Friday.
