Probably something to be expected in that part of the world, like

The description certainly did not live up to the reality there. I might
have questioned if 'd been served the right dish or if someone else got
my order.

He had quite the time of it there. Hopefully if something like this
happens again, he will act on it more promptly, thus avoiding the less
than desired consequences. But, it did alert him that he's allergic to
the one antibiotic now.

More likely most people would have some form of salsa or hot sauce; it's
(the former) replaced ketchup as the #1 condiment in the US.
