Do you have another car that Richard drives? It's a good thing that you
had it checked out--the job will cost a bit but not as much as if you
continued driving and it caused more damage.

I can imagine she feels frustrated at times, knowing that she used to be
able to do everything without problems but now has to rely on others.
The last 6 months or so before Mom went into the nursing home, Dad did
all of the cooking. Mom would head to the kitchen in late afternoon,
thinking she had to get supper going. Dad would have to intercept her
and get her back to her chair but the habit of so many years was hard to
break.

It's possible to do, but would depend on how confident she feels about
doing so. I would think the main concern there would be making sure the
glass was steady enough on the walker seat so it wouldn't spill. Dad's
walker doesn't have a seat; he has a carrier bag on it (originally made
for Mom) for small items. I need to make another one, somewhat modified,
to fit this walker, so that he'll have a back up.
