Sometimes one just has to find the right time to do something, sometimes
that happens quickly, but usually it takes a while... ;)  We might be
doing lunch next week sometime... that might be an option on the table,
as long as I think of it when we are trying to figure out where we want
to go...  :)

I guess you'd need some other sort of thickener, then... I guess
cornstarch is out because of Steve, but would rice starch work
instead...?  Or maybe tapioca "flour"...?

I'd guess that people that have food issues are more likely to think of
doing alternatives, at least for themselves, and then, perhaps, more
generally for others with other issues...  And some people think that it
just isn't their problem, so they don't make any accommodations for
others... My sister brought a fruit salad with lots of yummy fruits, but
including apples... I just picked around the apples, and got some of the
ones I could have... fortunately the allergy isn't SO bad that if a
little bit of apple brushed up against the other fruits it would trigger
for me... But, like Steve with corn, I don't really know what the actual
threshold is for where it triggers, so I don't take a lot of chances
beyond that...
