I get most of my dried herbs/spices from GFS or Kellner Food Service (a locally
owned firm) except for some exotics like specific chilli spice mixes and
Worcestershire powder - which I get from Pendery's. I keep the 5# bottle of
chilli spice and the 1# container of cumin in the ice box. Dried herbs, etc.
just go in the cabinets.

Dale pointed out that the adverts are recent - which is why I haven't seen
them. I enjoy advertising with some imagination or with a skewed, non-serious
look at things. Like the old Nissan ads when they introduced their cross-over
SUV the Murano ... and the tagline "Life's a journey. Enjoy the ride".

Yeah, if it's not mainstream Mittleamerika .....  This town has a huge dose of
"not invented here" syndrome in its buying/marketing habits.

Hardly "run of the mill". That would be Sav-A-Lot or Shop & Save. Or even
Schnuk's. I'm going to enjoy having a Hy-Vee next to my workplace. I am going
to enjoy more watching the other stupormarkups being forced to "raise their
game" in order to compete.

I still druther have had a Costco - doing China-Mart/Sam's a poke in the eye.
But, Hy-Vee isn't a bad consolation prize.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Moroccan Quinoa
 Categories: Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts
      Yield: 6 servings

      1 tb Extra-virgin olive oil
    1/2 c  Chopped shallots
      1 lg Clove garlic; fine chopped
      1 c  Water
      1 c  Apple juice
      1 c  Ivory quinoa; rinsed
  1 1/2 ts Granulated chicken bouillon
    1/2 ts Ground cumin
    1/3 c  Currants or chopped, dried,
           - cherries or cranberries
    1/3 c  Coarse chopped cilantro
    1/4 c  Pine nuts; toasted
           Ground black pepper

  Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add
  shallots and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, for 2
  minutes or until fragrant.

  Stir in water, juice, quinoa, bouillon and cumin. Bring to
  a boil; reduce heat to medium-low. Cover; cook for 15
  minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed.

  Remove from heat; stir in currants. Cover; let stand for 5
  minutes. Add cilantro and pine nuts; fluff with fork and
  serve. Season with pepper.
