RH>> I do too, and that's partly how we found out once that a credit card
RH>> was compromised. Some rather high charges were put on for the online
RH>> version of a store I shop in person. There were also high charges
RH>> for a sporting goods store, nothing either of us spends much time or
 RH>> money in.
NB>> That sort of thing, while annoying, is easily spotted and
NB>> corrected... clearly not your typical behaviour... Did you find
NB>> out how the card was compromised...?

RH> We pretty much figured it was at a car rental place in Las Vegas. It
RH> was the only place Steve used that credit card on that trip and the
RH> rental clerk did take it out of our sight at one point.
 RH> Hmmmmmmmmm.........

Unless it had happened just prior to the trip... it does seem
interesting that the thief used the online version of a store that you
normally visit in person... but if you don't usually use credit there,
the car rental place does seem a likely suspect...

RH>> Have to check them out--how's your supply of Irish foods?
 NB>> Sufficient, indubitably... ;)

RH> Mine is too; the only thing I might go right now for is some Irish
RH> Breakfast Tea but even that's not vital as our tea selection is quite
 RH> well stocked yet.

I think one can usually get reasonable versions of that in the grocery
store, actually... ;)

RH>> Heading up to see my aunts in NJ, the most direct way is via some
RH>> toll bridges and roads so we use them. Then to get up to NY from
RH>> NJ, we generally hit the Thruway for a bit. If we time it right,
RH>> we can have supper in Kingston, after getting off the Thruway.
NB>> When I was in NYC in April for my brother's wedding, I did have toll
NB>> tunnels or bridges anywhere in or out of the area... unavoidably...
NB>> But then, once out, I took the Taconic State Parkway, along the east
NB>> side of the River... not a toll road... I was headed from there to
NB>> Pittsfield MA, so there was no need to cross the river again... but
NB>> if I had needed to, I think that the toll bridges across the Hudson
NB>> in that area are charged only crossing to the east... If one went
NB>> all the way to Albany, that bridge is free... but then one might
NB>> need to take part of the Thruway... ;)

RH> I'm not sure how the Taconic Parkway runs as we come into NY from NJ
RH> when we go up that way. We go directly onto the Thruway from the road
RH> (forget the number) we're on in NJ. Planning on heading that way next
 RH> month.

Taconic comes off the end of the Bronx Expressway... It does mean
driving expressways thru NYC, I guess... But that's where I was
anyway... ;)

NB>> I suppose the coconut will keep for a while, anyway.... ;)

RH> It will, maybe he will do something with it tomorrow. Right now he's
RH> finshing up the front bathroom ceiling--it is de-popcorned and ready
 RH> for painting.

Always busy... ;) Has he done anything yet with the coconut...?

RH>> Yes, but we decided not to make sauce this year. I need to get a super
RH>> deal on tomatoes in quantity to make it worth my time and effort, plus
RH>> I've got other projects that are of a higher priority at present.
NB>> One can always reconsider when the higher priority projects are
NB>> done... if there are still tomatoes available... and the weather
 NB>> continues to cooperate... ;)

RH> We'll see; they're getting scarcer at the farmer's market. I'd have to
RH> get a very good price on a good amount to make the sauce worth while.

Maybe there'll be a crush of them at the very end of the season... ;)

NB>>> Good reasons to focus elsewhere for the moment... :) Santa
NB>>> wants his Halloween shirt well in advance of the season...? Or
NB>>> is he hoping for more than one...? :)
RH>> He only gave me the fabric for one halloween shirt. Actual
 RH>> construction will start Monday.
NB>> He will have it well in advance of the season, then... :)

RH> I'm hoping to have it done by later this week or early next week.

How'd you do...? (hard to believe that I'm that far behind already...
but I guess it HAS been a busy week! [g])

RH>>> My favorite time of year--mid September to late October.
NB>>> I think my favorite is spring... but this is a close second... :)
RH>> Too much pollen in the air for spring to be my favorite. (G)
NB>> You have less trouble with the fall pollens, then...?

RH> Much less, and no pine pollen.

I have some slight reaction to stuff all year round... fortunately not
any strong reactions, usually...

RH>>> I don't think we'll have many green ones to do much of anything
RH>>> with when the season ends.
NB>>> Depends on how long the season hangs on... :)
RH>> Hopefully until late October or early November.
NB>> So you think there won't be much more fruit actually setting this
NB>> season...? So what there is will hopefully have time to ripen
 NB>> fully...?

RH> We're still getting blossoms tho don't know how many will turn into
RH> tomatoes. If frost threatens while they're green, I can pick them and
RH> let them ripen inside, same as my Dad used to (actually, us kids would
RH> have to do the picking).

So for now, it's just wait and see... :)
